Kanao Tsuyuri build front view

Kanao Tsuyuri is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps in the Demon Slayer Anime. For more information about him, check out the fandom wiki page. For more information about the nanoblock builds, check out my collections page for links to other reviews.

This nanoblock build is split into 2 parts. There is the head and the body.

Kanao Tsuyuri’s head is very different from most of the rest of the Demon Slayer heads. Normally there is a large base layer in the other builds, but in this case, the head is built in columns that are connected together. There are several sections that are 1 brick deep with a brick sticking out to connect the sections together.

After connecting 3 sections, the base unit of the head is completed. The rest of the head is building up Kanao Tsuyuri’s hair. In addition to her hair, Kanao Tsuyuri’s butterfly hair decoration is added to the build. The final step of the head is to add the bottom section of her ponytail.

After finishing the head, it’s time to move on to the body.

I began the body by laying the bricks out on my nanoblock pad. The first couple of layers are very straightforward. In the third step, her hand is added to the build. At this point, the build can no longer be built on the nanoblock pad because the hand has a stud sticking forward, so it doesn’t lie flat on the studs on the mat.

There are a couple more straightforward layers to finish building the top of the body.

After finishing building to the top, the build is flipped over, and her skirt is added to the build. Then the clear support bricks are added to the build. These bricks help the build to stay up even though the finished build has narrow feet. The final step of the body is adding her legs, a simple stack of 4 bricks.

Then it’s time to finish up the build. The next step is to attach the finished head to the body. The final step is to build and connect Kanao Tsuyuri’s sword.

When I completed my build, my finished build was very tippy. This is unusual for the Demon Slayer builds, which normally seem to be pretty solid when standing.

Things I liked:

  • I really like how they created the butterfly hair decoration that holds up her ponytail

Things I didn’t like:

  • My final build was tippy, which is unusual, and I didn’t really like it

This nanoblock build is split into 2 parts. There is the head and the body.

The base layer is made up of skin tone. I laid the base layer out on my nanoblock pad. After the first couple of layers, I built the rest of the head in my hands.

The head goes up in straightforward layers. The hair on the back of his head uses dark grey bricks and is topped off with black hair on the top of the head.

In the step following putting in the white headband, several bricks have fewer studs on top than the size on the bottom. (For example, space for 2 studs on the bottom and 1 stud on top). Lining up these bricks was tricky but doable.

The head is finished off by adding the spikes to the center of the hair and Gyomei Himejima’s eyes.

After finishing the head, it’s time to move on to the body.

I began the body by laying the bricks out on my nanoblock pad. The body goes up in straightforward layers to create the main core of the body.

The next step is to create the hands which are attached to the front of the build. The next layers add his beads and finish the base of the neck. Then the hands are added to the front of the build.

Next, I flipped over the build and added the bottom of the coat and hips. Then I added the clear bricks that help to hold up the build. Next, I added the very straightforward legs, which are just 4 brick stacks.

The final step is to connect the head to the body. It is a bit tricky to tell where exactly the head goes on the body but it is possible to figure out by looking and counting carefully.

Things I liked:

  • I really like that his hands are out in front of him. It’s unique for the demon slayer builds.

Things I didn’t like:

  • The white on the back of the build seems to be a bit random, but you can’t see it from the front of the box

This nanoblock build is split into 2 parts. There is the head and the body.

The base layer comprises skin tone and hair to create the base. I laid the base layer out on my nanoblock pad. He has very detailed hair. The front section of the head is very straightforward. The back of the hair is more complicated, and you need to pay a lot of attention to ensure that you get every angle. The directions are very straightforward, which makes getting the detail relatively simple.

After finishing the head, it’s time to move on to the body.

I began the body by laying the bricks out on my nanoblock pad. The body goes up in straightforward layers. Then you attach the hands. After attaching the hands, you attach the sword.

The next step is to connect the head to the body.

The final steps are to attach the bricks that hold up the model. First, a stack of clear bricks is attached to the back, holding the finished build up. The final detail is Sanemi Shinazugawa’s legs which are just a stack of bricks.

Things I liked:

  • I like the teal bricks that are used in his body. It’s a very uncommon color.

Things I didn’t like:

  • I don’t like the detail in the face, but I’m not sure if it does a good job of representing a mark on the character’s face. It’s not very clear in the character’s image if he has a mark on his face.

The base layer is made up of white and black bricks. The layer is staggered. I laid the base layer out on my nanoblock pad. The rest of the head goes up in layers of interlocking layers.

After building the main section of the head, you add the hair on the front of the head. Then you add the final details to the head.

Obanai Iguro build back view

After finishing the head, it’s time to move on to the body.

Obanai Iguro wears a pinstripe jacket. This means there are a lot of details in the jacket which adds the need to pay attention to the build.

I began the body by laying the bricks out on my nanoblock pad. The body goes up in straightforward layers. After building the body going up, you flip the build over and add the hips and legs.

The next step is to connect the head to the body. This was a bit tricky because it was hard to lie up the head based on the image. However, there was only one way to actually connect the head.

Things I liked:

  • I like the snake head that is coming off his shoulder

Things I didn’t like:

  • In the build, there are few places where bricks easily pop off, which was frustrating

This nanoblock build is split into 2 parts. There is the head and the body.

The build begins with a layer of skin-tone brick on the base with pink for the hair on the back of her head. I built the head on my nanoblock pad. Her head is more tricky than a lot of the other Demon Slayer builds because of the detail in her hair. Other than the hair, the head goes up in straightforward layers.

Once you build the main unit of the head, you add the detail to the front of the head. I found these to be confusing instructions, but I figured it out.

Mitsuri Kanroji build side view

After finishing the head, it’s time to move on to the body.

The body begins with a layer of smaller bricks. There are 2 bricks with studs on the sides, so the layer doesn’t lie flat, so you can’t build the body on the nanoblock pad. The next layer connects all the bricks in the base layer so the body can easily be held.

The next couple of layers are straightforward.

Mitsuri Kanroji wears her jacket open. This means that her breasts are visible. There is a step where you add her breasts. The fact that the bricks aren’t lined up with the other body bricks isn’t clear from the instructions. After adding the breasts, there is a final step to complete the body.

Mitsuri Kanroji build back view

The next step is to connect the head to the body.

There are a few more steps to add some details. First, there is her hair in front. The instructions for these hair bits were a bit rough. By looking at the picture on the box, I could figure out how the hair should look. The last step is to add her sword to the front and back of the body.

So far, I have built 10 of the Demon Slayer nanoblock builds, which is by the most challenging of the figures. Mitsuri Kanroji has the most complicated hair in terms of various bricks used to create both while building the head and in the final details. She also has a lot more detail in her body than a lot of the other builds.

Mitsuri Kanroji build front 3/4 view

Things I liked:

  • I really like her hair and how much detail was put into creating it
  • I really appreciated that you could adjust and make her breasts larger and smaller. Some of the older builds for busty female characters had breasts that seemed huge compared to the rest of the build

Things I didn’t like:

  • I wish the hilt of the sword was a short brick or that the back was 2 bricks long so that the hilt and sword were different lengths

Normally when there are both navy and black bricks, it can be hard to tell which color which. There is enough navy in this build in this kit, so it is clear which color is which.

This nanoblock build is split into 2 parts. There is the head and the body.

The build begins with a layer of skin-tone brick on the base. I build the head on my nanoblock pad. The main sections goes up in straightforward layers. There are some bricks just hanging out off the head, which looks a bit odd until the build is completed.

The next step is to build the hair at the front of the head. It can be a bit tricky to get the center section completely centered. Then you add the front hair fringe.

The last section of the head is the hair in the back. I started by doing the reversed steps, so I needed to rebuild the section. Once I was paying full attention, it was very straightforward.

Muichiro Tokito back view

After finishing the head, it’s time to move on to the body.

The body begins with a layer of navy and white. in goes up in layers adding details to the outfit. Once you add his left arm onto the build, you can no longer use the nanoblock pad because of the studs coming out the side.

At one point, you flip the build over. I have problems reading instructions when the build is upside down. I had problems getting the legs lined up because I mirrored things around several times. After adding the legs, you add the feet and the stabilizer brick.

Then you attach the sword to Muichiro Tokito’s left side. These connect to the front and back of the build.

The final step is to connect the head to the body.

Things I liked:

  • I really like the multi-colored hair and how the hair is built

Things I didn’t like:

  • I wish the hilt of the sword was a short black or that the back was 2 blacks long so that the hilt and sword were different lengths

This nanoblock build is split into 2 parts. There is the head and the body.

The build begins with a layer of skin-tone brick on the base. I build the head on my nanoblock pad. The head goes up in layers. each layer is different between the eyes, hair, and face markings. I was very confused by the face marking while I was building them because they don’t really look like the character in the photo on the box.

Once the main head section is built, it’s time to add the details. Tengen Uzui has his hair up in the back, so you add the hair in the back. You also add blue trails that are coming off his headband. The last detail in the head is to add the headband.

Tengen Uzui back view

After finishing the head, it’s time to move on to the body.

The body begins with a white brick that goes up in layers. After a few layers, the main torso is completed.

The next step is to build and add the arms. The arms are very straightforward. Then you attach the head. At this point, the build won’t be able to stand on its own until you add the clear base at the end.

Then, you build and create the legs. I missed that the large round brick was centered on the smaller round brick, so I needed to fix that later. After adding the hips, the legs were easy to attach.

The next step is to build and attach Tengen Uzui’s sword. The swords are very straightforward to build and are easy to attach to the build.

The final step is to build the base of clear bricks. This allows the build to stand on its own.

Tengen Uzui 3/4 front view

Things I liked:

  • The double sword on his back is unique compared to the original build

Things I didn’t like:

  • The mark around his eye doesn’t really look like the mark from the anime

Kyojuro has long blond hair, which means that his hair is part of both the head and body build. You build the head in layers, and once it is complete, it’s time to build the body.

Kyojuro Rengoku back 3/4 view

In creating the body, first, you build the edges of the top, which is basically a bar of each color. You build the bar up until you add the arms and the rest of the body. This is also where you build an extra level of depth to be able to add the hair to his back. Once you attach the hair in the back, you add the hips and the legs. A stack of clear brick keeps the build from tipping over.

The final steps of the build are to attach the head to the body and to build and attach the sword.

One of the most noticeable things about this head is the hair. She has hair framing her face, and her hair is pulled up into a bow in the back. As you build the head, you will add the details to create these elements in the hair. I also liked how the purple accents in her hair, but I wish they had used the true purple bricks.

Things I liked:

  • The details for the legs do not line up in terms of depth
  • The accents in the hair

Things I liked:

  • The detail in the hair was a nice change of pace
  • The added detail of having the various colors in the jacket

Things I didn’t like:

  • A downside of the colors in the jacket is less study than a normal nanoblock build
