nanoblock Moomin Collection

The Moomins are characters in the books and comics by Tove Jansson. There were originally published in Finland. The books have been translated into several languages including English (which is how I read them as a kid). In Japan, there have been several different Anime and movies over the years.

Most of the books follow the adventures of Moomintroll. However, some of the books feature other characters. Moomin.com has a lot of really great information about the world of the Moomins.

I stumbled upon the nanoblock Moomin collection on Amazon.jp and knew I needed to collect them all.

nanoblock I’m Doraemon Collection

Doraemon is a long-running Anime in Japan. There are several TV shows, manga, and movies. It’s been running for over 50 years.

Doraemon is a robot cat sent back in time to help Nobita become a better person. The show features Doraemon, Nobita, and the kids that Nobita interacts with. Doraemon also has a lot of gadgets to try and get Nobita to improve as a person.

Most of the builds featuring Doraemon and character are part of the NBCC line, but there are some in other lines.

nanoblock Demon Slayer Collection

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting my reviews of the nanoblock builds for Demon Slayer characters.

The Demon Slayer builds are part of the NBCC line, with each build representing a different character from the Manga/Anime. For those who don’t know, the anime’s basic plot is that a young boy tries to become a demon slayer after his family is murdered and his sister is turned into a demon. It is an extremely popular series in both manga and anime forms. For more of an introduction, I recommend reading the Wikipedia page.

nanoblock Monotone Pokemon Mini Collection

Collection of monotone pokemon builds

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokemon nanoblock released a collection of monotone pokemon. There are a total of 4 builds that come in normal box kits, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Pikachu. These sets were only released in Japan so the kits have Japanese names, not English names. These kits are numbered in the main nanoblock Pokemon (NBPM) line. The steps to build each of these kits are identical to the original kits 1-4 but used grey tones instead of colored bricks.

If you collect all four sets, you will get the codes needed to access the pattern for a monotone Mew. The four kits also come with spare blocks so that you can build a Mew. I’ve written reviews comparing the colored build to the grayscale builds. Here are links to the monotone reviews.
